Three weeks in a row. I've never been this consistent. This New Years Resolution stuff might actually have something to it. XD
So, remember [link] ? It's fine if you don't; it didn't exactly get an overwhelming amount of attention (no comments ). Anyways, this picture is kinda the "sequel" to that first one, if you will. I'm not exactly sure what's going on with these two scenes, but for one reason or another that other dragon wasn't ready for the bright light from that staff. So bright... O.O
First time I've ever drawn an anthro dragon before! Anatomically I'm sure it's a nightmare (not that my other pieces are much better ), but overall I'm proud of the result. All draw are feral dragons, but my friend =tedd135 asked me if I could draw some of his anthro characters from his story, so I figured it would be prudent to see whether I could actually pull off the subject matter to begin with. XD What do you think? Should I stick with the four-legged? >_>
This drawing was fun to do. I decided to be adventurous and try to draw a background along with the dragon. It's sketchy, obviously; this is a speedpaint, and the background wasn't my main priority. Besides, I've never tried to draw a cave before. But I really didn't have any way around it this time, considering that the theme here is "Dark" and I'm drawing a character with a bright light source... yeah.

Please comment, especially if you ! I love to hear why you like my drawings, and I'm always looking for ways to improve.
Thanks so much! I'm really glad to hear that. Yeah, I've been focusing on my shading recently, I think I've been getting better at it. I still have a lot to improve on, though! Did anything with the shading stand out that I should try and fix in my next drawing?
No problemo! you are getting 100x better! I can tell! The only advice for shading I have is that you could try to make the lighter spots smoother by smudging, I think that'll look cool! Your the first person who asked for advice from me! do you do art trades? Because I would love to do one with you!
Aw, thanks so much, that really means a lot! Hmm, I'll try to keep that in mind. I'd rather avoid using the smudge tool, but I can definitely focus on making the lighter areas smoother.
I've never done an art trade before, actually. At the moment, I have a lot of other pieces I need to take care of for other people who have been waiting a while, so I'd feel kinda bad agreeing to another piece that would take a long time to finish, but maybe once I've cleaned up my to-do list a little bit more.
Thanks for the great comment!
