A break from the pencil linearts I've been submitting recently. This is my new avatar I just put together, based on a photo of a freakin' awesome ring I was given about a year ago while I was in New Zealand. I mean, let's be honest, you've never seen a ring that awesome and you know it. >_>

Ahem, anyways. I thought one day how cool it'd be to have a picture of this ring being all shiny as my avatar, but I could never be bothered to sit down and spend the time in Gimp to make it happen. Glad I did now; I think it looks rather neat. The icon size dA lets you use for your avatar is far too small to do this justice, so I decided to put up a larger version.

Just to clarify, yes, that is a dragon carved on the ring. There's also a mirror image of the dragon on the other side 'cause that's how these kinds of rings are made. And, no, I did not make the ring, I just made the animation.

Time taken: About three hours in GIMP.

Aw, thank you! I obviously can't take credit for the ring itself, but you can see why I just couldn't say no when I saw it. :meow: I had the idea for the animation long before I was able to actually put it together. I'm glad you like it. :D

Yup yup! Glad you like it. :D Besides being a snazzy icon, it also makes a snazzy ring. I'm quite happy with it.

I do too! Beautiful country. But I took so many photos while I was there that it will hopefully make up for not being able to return for a long time. XD
I went all over, north and south island. Specifically, I spent time in Taranaki, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and central Otago. Your page doesn't say where you're from, do you live in Australia? Is that how you've been there before?

Ahh, nice. I was in Queenstown and Christchurch, so you were pretty close to where I was. :D
bawww, I wish I lived in Australia. xD I'm actually American. My uncle has property in New Zealand, so he took us out there in 2004. I would like to go back someday, but it doesn't seem like that's gonna happen any time soon. :\
